Hazel Bowering-Scott is a Partner based in AWS Legal’s Queenstown office, specialising in civil and commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Hazel has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, working with businesses, developers, contractors, local government and individuals across a wide range of legal matters. She has particular expertise in construction law, including defective building claims, contractual issues and disputes arising during construction projects.
Her experience also extends to general commercial litigation, including debt recovery, contract disputes, negligence claims and insurance matters. Hazel is experienced in resolving disputes through court proceedings, arbitration, adjudication and mediation, and is a member of the Society of Construction Law and the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
Hazel takes a practical, commercially focused approach to her work, building strong relationships with clients and helping them navigate complex legal issues with confidence. She is committed to providing accessible, high-quality litigation and dispute resolution advice to clients throughout Central Otago and Southland.
Outside of work, Hazel enjoys making the most of the outdoors, particularly mountain biking, skiing, kayaking and exploring everything the region has to offer.
