With 8 years of legal experience working in generalist law firms in Christchurch and a boutique firm in Queenstown, having previously worked for both the Ministry of Justice and Earthquake Commission, Sophie McGirr has joined us as an Associate in our Property & Projects team. Sophie specialises in property, commercial and trust law. She is highly detail-orientated and can see the big picture, which makes her well-suited to her role. In addition, she is an excellent communicator and is well-organised, allowing her to produce high-quality work for her clients efficiently.
Sophie has a wide range of experience in commercial work including buying and selling businesses, leases, bank financing, and business structuring. She also has experience in property work such as subdivisions, buying and selling of real estate, and ‘off the plans’ purchases. In addition, she can help with private client work such as trusts and personal estate planning.
Sophie is passionate about being of service to her clients and helping them with their legal matters. Outside of the office, Sophie loves to ski, tramp and run, taking full advantage of the great outdoors.
