Isobel Howe joined our Tāhuna Queenstown office as a Law Clerk in July 2025. Having completed an LLB in London and LLM in Sydney, Isobel has settled in Kingston having fallen in love with the South Island. Isobel has previously worked at legal clinics in London and Sydney, advising women’s rights charity across Australia. More recently, Isobel was a Legal Assistant at another national firm in New Zealand.
Her career highlights so far include:
• Meeting the Prime Minister as part of her work with a violence against women charity in Australia and Lady Hale during a prison visit;
• Working on the first KVL releases as a Kingston-dweller; and
• Having her LLB dissertation referred to in UK Parliament during the deliberations on a sexual harassment bill.
Isobel’s passion for learning and getting to the bottom of an investigation is what drew her to law and AWS Legal – whether it’s property due diligence, litigation research, or just solving a tricky problem – it drives everything she does.
Outside of work, she is a NZ cliché but loving spending time outdoors and hoping to complete the Great Walks by the end of next summer. Isobel has travelled to 50 different countries and NZ continuously tops that list.
